How To: Check Apple iCloud Status

iCloud Status

On Friday, I noticed that I was having trouble connecting to iCloud from my office computer. I grabbed the ryPhone and tried to update an appointment on my calendar only to find similar issues there as well. I figured it had to be an iCloud issue and started poking around the twitterverse in search of others with the same problem. While several people reported similar issues, it took me a few minutes to sort through the fluff, but I did manage to locate this most helpful link to the iCloud System Status page at Apple. I’ve bookmarked the page as a quick reference to check before I start troubleshooting hardware.

Siri status would be nice…

Why I Won’t Change the Scrolling Direction in Lion

The first thing I noticed after my upgrade to Lion was that the scrolling direction was all wrong… Of course, I was in the System Preferences panel looking to change the settings before I let that nonsense continue one second longer.

In case you’re wondering:

System Preferences > Trackpad >  Scrolling direction: natural

So… I clicked off the Natural option and went right back to my old ways.

Then I thought about it… Why would the default change?

Have I been perfectly content scrolling in reverse all this time? Say it isn’t so.
